Fans of the popular anime “Attack on Titan” can rejoice: The solo developer Swammy is working on a fan-made game that lets you fight against giant Titans. Here’s what it’s about:
What kind of game is it? The game based on Attack on Titan (AoT) is being developed by a single developer named Swammy. It is not an official game, has no proper title, and does not have its own launcher, nor is it available on a well-known launcher like Steam. Nevertheless, according to esports journalist Jake Lucky, the title has been downloaded over 10 million times. (via Twitter)
Swammy offers the game for download on the Discord server “Blackbox Studios”. There, the F2P title is available via a link and is referred to as “Swammy Attack on Titan Fan Game”. As Jake Lucky reports, Swammy has been working on the game for just over a year at this point.

On which platforms is the game available? Swammy’s fan game is playable on PC and Android mobile devices. It will not be released for iOS.
The PC version of the game is, according to Swammy, 6.5 GB in size. The Android version is at 1.0 GB, but will not receive any more updates.
What characterizes the gameplay? Swammy’s fan game will not have a story mode, but it is playable with friends. There, according to Jake Lucky, a sandbox is available to you. Additionally, you should be able to fight and train against Titans. Overall, the game is aimed at fans of Attack on Titan. Those fans were recently also addressed by Dead by Daylight when the horror game announced a collaboration with Attack on Titan.
What is the development status? Swammy is working alone on the fan game and, according to his own statement, is doing this for fun, which is why he cannot provide precise information about the development status, a timeline, or future updates.
This is not unusual and is also the case with the €8 shooter United Assault – Battle of the Bulge, which is also developed by a single person.
