In Warframe, fishing is a highlight of the Open World update Plains of Eidolon. However, the bizarre behavior of the fish and the curious look and physics of the fishing mini-game drives many anglers insane.
Fishing is an essential part of many MMORPGs and is actually quite boring. You find a good fishing spot, take out the rod, put the bait on the hook, and wait patiently for a fish to bite.
Not so in Warframe. There, you must brutally spear the fish with a harpoon and pull them out of the water! However, it doesn’t always go as players would like.
The Revenge of the Glitch Fish!
Fishing in Warframe usually works, but there have been and continue to be absurd bugs and glitches. There have been cases where fish happily swam through solid rock or were invulnerable. The developers have released numerous patches, but often such “fixes” cause new chaos elsewhere.
Therefore, Warframe fans anxiously await each hotfix to see if there are even more bugs in the game, especially when fishing. And unlike other games, fishing in Warframe is an important part of the gameplay on the Plains. Because fishing provides valuable resources and, above all, reputation points with the local faction. Fishing is serious business!
The Fish is Not There!
A problem that many fishermen are currently facing could also be a feature. Some aspiring fishers have experienced that despite patiently aiming, they significantly miss the intended fish, and the thick catch swims away. This is particularly frustrating with rare fish that must be lured in with special bait.
The problem lies in the misaligned hitboxes. It seems they are not directly over the fish but rather above them. Therefore, you always need to aim upwards. Clever players have revealed how this should work in certain fish diagrams.
For many players, this is all “Space Magic.” One must first learn the old “Orokin Secrets” to catch a fish.
This is Not a Bug, This is a Feature!
However, some players disagree and see the seemingly bizarre arrangement of the hitboxes as a realism feature. In real life, when spear fishing, one would also not aim directly at the fish due to the refraction of light in the water, as it would not be there.
Therefore, the supposedly messed-up fish hitbox is not a bug at all! However, players cannot agree whether it might ultimately be a bug that just happens to make sense.
