The 21 agents in Valorant each have different roles they fulfill. One agent that doesn’t fit anywhere and is hardly noticed by players is Yoru. Even after 3 changes, he hasn’t improved and has been in his current state for a year now.
Who is Yoru? Valorant has four categories for its agents: Duelist, Initiator, Controller, and Sentinel. Yoru belongs to the Duelist class and is probably the worst agent in the game.
Yoru was added to the game in early 2021 and has been a problematic character in Valorant from the start. He has been adjusted 3 times since his release, and to this day his status hasn’t improved.
Riot also regularly brings new skins for weapons in Valorant. These are pretty, but have unimaginable costs.

How bad is Yoru? Yoru hardly gets any attention from both professionals and the average player base. During the Valorant Champions Tour, Yoru had a pick rate of 0% on most maps. Normal players also ignore him. In the ranked mode, he has a pick rate of 1.8%.
Since his release, Riot has attempted to adjust him 3 times. This was shortly after his release in patch 2.06. A complete rework was attempted in patch 4.04, and in patch 5.01 he was buffed again. All of this brought nothing, and he remained at his abysmal statistics.
For other agents like Viper, Riot’s rescue attempts have been successful, and she is still ranked high in tier lists, as shown by Mobalytics (as of 30.05.2023).

What is the problem? According to Mobalytics, 3 of the 6 Duelists are S-Tier agents. Thus, they are significantly better than Yoru. The other two are still B-Tier.
Yoru is also classified as the most difficult Duelist. Accordingly, he requires the most skill. It is more worthwhile to pick the other Duelists as they are statistically more successful and easier to play.
It has been a year since his rework. Whether Riot will attempt to adjust him again is still unclear, but it seems as if he has been forgotten.
