Revelation Online, the action-packed MMORPG from My.com, has been in beta for a good week now, and to help with bug fixing even better, the developers have implemented a handy bug tracker feature. This allows us to find and report bugs and issues more easily, contributing to a better game.
Revelation Online is currently in its first beta phase, and our task as beta testers is to help the developers fix bugs. And by that, the devs actually mean real programming bugs and not the annoying dialogues, menus, and tooltips, which come in either Russian or Chinese and cause us a lot of frustration!
Bugs on Display!
To better find and report the bugs, the developers have integrated a new feature in the Revelation Online forum. Through the “bug tracker”, we can report a bug and then see how a developer is currently addressing it and what the status of the bug is. The bug tracker can be accessed via the provided link.
Moreover, the developers have sent an interim report on the localization of the game. Because as every previous player of Revelation Online knows, half of the game is in languages that are rather incomprehensible for Western Europeans, such as Russian or Chinese. However, the developers assure that they are working hard on the localization and mention some impressive numbers that underline their Herculean task.
The China version contains over 9,000,000 (!) Chinese characters, and almost 1,000 interface files need to be translated. Additionally, there are hundreds of graphics somewhere with characters that also need to be painstakingly extracted and replaced with Latin letters. The developers still have a lot to do before everything is ready for the Western release.
Anyone who wants to join the current and future betas receives guaranteed access with founder packages. We also have our initial impression of Revelation Online linked here for you.
