5. Peria Chronicles (2019)
What was Peria Chronicles? Peria Chronicles was an MMORPG by Nexon, also known for Maple Story 2. It resembled a playable anime and offered a unique concept.
Players were supposed to be able to create floating islands in the air and design them themselves. In addition to NPCs, dungeons and traps were also to be possible.
What did the MMO fail at? Peria Chronicles was in beta phase in Korea when it was discontinued. It was therefore never officially released.
Apparently, the game did not meet the developer’s expectations and was said to lack fun. Testers reported too little content, a stiff combat system, and the feature regarding the players’ islands was still missing in beta.
What are the best memories? Peria Chronicles invited players to dream with the idea of islands that they could design themselves. The MMO will mainly be remembered for features it actually never had.
Are there alternatives or successors? There are many anime MMORPGs. The one closest to its world is likely MapleStory 2, which we introduced here.
