You want to see how the survival MMO Rend plays? Then you now have the opportunity in the Alpha!
What do the developers aim to achieve with Rend? The developers of Rend have set themselves a big goal: They want to be to the survival MMO genre what World of Warcraft was to MMORPGs. They hope to advance the genre and provide long-lasting fun that is accessible yet deep – whether this will work can be determined by the now launched Alpha. The Early Access phase will begin later in the year.

The Alpha provides an initial glimpse
This is how you join! Do you want to participate in the Alpha? Then sign up on the official website. With a bit of luck, you will receive one of the limited access keys and can take a look at the very early version immediately. However, the developers place great importance on feedback to continuously improve the online game.

What is Rend?
Rend mixes survival, sandbox, and MOBA gameplay. It sounds adventurous but also very exciting:
- You find yourself on a large map where you gather resources
- With the resources, you expand your base and craft better equipment
- During your expeditions into the wilderness, you are attacked by players from hostile factions and wild beasts
- Throughout the match, you collect souls. Once you have gathered the required number of souls, you win the round, and the game world resets
- Once a week, the shields around the factions’ bases lower, and you can attack them to destroy the soul stone where the souls are collected
- Your hero collects progress points during the match that you use to improve him, so you don’t start from scratch in the next round
This is what the developers themselves have to say about their work: “Our goal from the beginning was to allow Rend to continuously grow and optimize through direct player feedback at every step of this project journey,” explains Jeremy Wood, Co-Founder and CEO at Frostkeep Studios. “With the help of players, we put a lot of love into the creation process, making it not just our project, but also theirs. The Alpha testing phase represents a significant milestone, now that even more players from around the world can join the universe of Rend and become part of our community.”
Rend comes from the creative minds of former WoW and LoL developers.
