Red Dead Redemption 2 is again a top seller on Steam after the game was off the radar for a long time. Is it worth taking a look at the adventure?

Apparently, the hit “Red Dead Redemption 2” also benefits from this – as it suddenly is one of the best-selling games on Steam again.
Why is Red Dead Redemption 2 making a comeback? This is simply due to the current “Steam Summer Sale,” which offers a whole range of titles at significantly reduced prices – including RDR2. Instead of the full price of a whopping 60 euros, the game currently costs only 19.79 euros. That’s a price reduction of 67%. For many, this seems to be the reason to grab it only now and dive into the adventure.
How massive is the increase? You can refer to various figures for that. First, there’s the official “Top Sellers” list from Steam, where you can see the games with the highest revenue in recent days. Red Dead Redemption 2 is now proudly in 12th place, after previously not being in the top 100 (via steam). Currently, it stands ahead of games like The Witcher III, GTA V, Hogwarts Legacy, or Dead by Daylight.
However, it seems many have purchased the game just for the future, as the current player numbers show almost no change. The fact that an average of nearly 25,600 players still play the game from 2019 simultaneously every day (via steamcharts) is also an achievement in itself.
What is Red Dead Redemption 2 about? In Red Dead Redemption 2, you travel to America in the year 1899. As outlaw Arthur Morgan, along with his “Van der Linde” gang, you fight your way through the heartland of America, needing to plan, execute robberies, and survive some shootouts for the group to endure.
However, increasing conflicts within the group cause Arthur to soon have to make difficult decisions about whether he remains true to his own ideals or maintains loyalty to those who raised him.
And for those who want more: In the online mode “Red Dead Online,” you can also encounter other players and take on various roles. Whether you are hunting criminals as a bounty hunter, building an empire as a trader, or collecting rare treasures as a collector – to name just a few options.
Like almost all games from Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is also known for its outstanding quality, leading to 91% positive ratings (from over 500,000 ratings). If you don’t have the game in your collection yet, now might be the time to grab it – and either expand the Pile of Shame by one title or spend a lot of time in a good game in the coming weeks.
