Red Dead Online, the multiplayer mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, is being expanded by Rockstar and fed with new features. One of them is a major wish of the community: In an upcoming update, players will be able to edit their characters.
What feature is coming? As the developers at Rockstar stated in a blog post, they are currently working not only on the upcoming content for Red Dead Online but also on some of the most requested features by players.
Among other things, it should soon be possible to maintain the playstyle preference when switching to and from Free Roam. The defensive or offensive playstyle that was introduced with the spring update will then remain and will not reset.
Additionally, the feature most desired by the community is coming: Players will soon be able to revise their characters even after creation without losing their progress.
Why is character customization desired? Red Dead Online has a very comprehensive character editor that allows players to create a variety of faces. However, this requires time and patience, as the editor was controversial at the launch of RDO.
Players often spend a lot of time creating their character, but how they truly look in the game is only revealed to aspiring cowboys after lengthy cutscenes.
Other players might get tired of their character’s appearance after a while and would like to change how they look. However, they are already so advanced in the game that deleting their hero would be too painful.
What do the players say? The news about the subsequent character customization is very well received in the RDR subreddit. Many players are excited that they will soon be able to revise their character.
Players hope that hairstyles and beards from the single-player mode will also be brought into Red Dead Online directly. Some players complain that the currently available options do not look very good.
When is the feature coming? In the blog post, it is stated that the most requested features that the developers are currently working on will be included in the next major update for Red Dead Online. This should be the summer update, which was already announced with the last major patch.
