In Pokémon GO, Rayquaza is finally returning for a special raid weekend. We provide all the information about the event and reveal whether there is a Shiny Rayquaza.
How Rayquaza returns: Many old raid bosses in Pokémon GO are getting their own event and returning once again. This was last seen with Latias.
Now Rayquaza is getting its own raid weekend later this March.
The event starts: The event begins on March 15 at 10 PM German time. For us, that means Rayquaza will be available only from March 16, as no raids occur at such late hours.
You will have until Monday, March 18, at 10 PM to battle the raid boss.
What we know about the Rayquaza event
This is why Rayquaza is celebrated: Players have been waiting for months for a return of Rayquaza, and now the wish of many players is finally coming true.
Rayquaza is the best dragon attacker in the game and also a true all-rounder. That is why the Pokémon is so useful in the game.
What Niantic says about Shiny Rayquaza: We find no information about the Shiny on the German and English pages of Niantic. However, the Japanese page provides clarification:
“In this event, Rayquaza will not be available in a different color,” it says on the Japanese Twitter account.
What is behind this raid weekend? Some Pokémon have already received such a weekend. These include Lugia and Ho-Oh, but also Latias, where a weekend turned into a whole week. Whether this will also be the case for Rayquaza remains to be seen.
Currently, the battle event is taking place in Pokémon GO. Machollo is the star of it:
