For PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), a winter map is in the works. A data miner shows first major impressions of the map.
What’s new? A data miner has now found game data of PUBG to recreate the map. With the camera, he flies to the most interesting points of the map and shows them in the video.
Dihor Otok (Vikendi) – The winter map in PUBG
What is shown? The tour of the map starts high in the north and then works its way across the cool playing field.
Cosmodrome: The cosmodrome shows an abandoned space base. It also includes a rocket and a launch device.
Frozen River: Just nearby, there is a frozen river stretching across parts of the map. At its end in the north, it flows into the sea.
A mysterious castle: About in the middle of the map, on a small island, stands a castle. This is the next point in the data miner’s video tour after the frozen river. There you will find destroyed castle walls and towers. Behind the walls, there are many rooms that invite close-range duels.
Cement Factory: Players will likely find more open field at the cement factory. The grey block is surrounded by many towers and conveyor belts.
Frozen Lake: Around the frozen lake, there are houses. Good opportunities for snipers to shoot players sliding over the ice surface.
Many Villages: Apart from these special places, smaller villages can be found all over the map for hiding and looting.
The data miner states that this recreation of the map is probably not 100% accurate. By release, the map will likely still change.
What do we know about the winter map in PUBG?
- The layout of the Dihor Otok map for PUBG has already been leaked
- Textures such as castle walls, a dinosaur park, or C4 were also revealed
- The winter map is expected to be released in autumn or winter 2018 – A short teaser for it is already available
- The map will be smaller than Erangel – the PUBG chief also wishes for footprints
This information is new: On Reddit, the data miner allthenewsisgoodnews conducted a small Q&A session about the map. He says that
- the desired footprints are probably indeed in the game
- the snow behaves dynamically, similar to fog
- the castle towers are accessible, but do not represent a sniper paradise. There are many accesses to the towers
Now players are eagerly waiting for the PUBG team to introduce the new map in detail. Are you looking forward to the new map?
