Tonight, on September 13th, there are disturbances and issues in the PSN Store on PlayStation 4. The service is currently undergoing maintenance.
Currently, almost nothing is working in the PSN Store on the PS4. The PSN status indicates that all services are functioning – except for the store. This has been the case since 7 PM our time.
Players are unable to access the store. It is displayed that the service is under maintenance. Additionally, the error code WC-40383-8 appears. What is the reason for this, and when will it be back up?
The “FIFA 17” demo is likely the cause
A possible and very likely cause can be quickly identified: Fans of virtual football have been waiting all day for the “FIFA 17” demo to arrive in the store – both on PS4 and PS3.
It has been available for download since 7 PM. And since 7 PM, there have been significant issues in the PSN Store. The servers are likely overloaded. You can find information about the “FIFA 17” demo here.
Additionally, the servers are being burdened by the system update 4.00.
When the services will be back to normal is currently unknown.
