When new consoles are released, there is often a focus on which games they will bring at launch. How much influence do cool launch titles have on your decision to purchase new consoles?
The one thing that every fan looks forward to with the release of the new round of next-gen consoles is, of course, all the new games. We are excited to see what the developers and publishers will show us and when these games will actually be playable.
A special emphasis is often placed on the big AAA games, which serve as flagship titles for the consoles, had high development costs, and are highly anticipated by many players. However, these games do not always release at the same time as the consoles.
- For example, Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most anticipated titles for the PS5. However, it will be released in 2021, so it is not a launch title.
- Halo Infinite was originally planned as a launch title for the Xbox Series X, but was postponed to 2021. Thus, it will also not launch at the same time as the console, which is set to be released in November 2020.
The presence of such strong players at launch can certainly influence the purchasing decision for some of us.
