The testers of the Xbox Series X and the PS5 have shared their results online. Which one is ahead in loading times? We show you the comparison.
There are only a few days left for you to wait to have your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X (or S) in your hands. Right now, in this hot phase, new information on the consoles is particularly exciting. After all, you want to know what you have pre-ordered.
For us gamers, loading times are an important point. Which console loads new and older online games faster and where does each one fall short?
We looked at tests from the international press and evaluated them. As of today, November 6, 2020, the first reviews for the PlayStation 5 are available.
Loading Time Comparison Between PS5 and Xbox Series X
What is being compared here? The two next-gen consoles
By the way, you can’t start PS5 games from the external hard drive of the PS5.
We found specific tests on these loading times at GameSpot and TrustedReviews.
This is what GameSpot shows: In the test, the magazine compared the loading times of Destiny 2 (with pre-patch), Final Fantasy XV, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Monster Hunter World. For almost all games, the Xbox Series X is in the lead. Sometimes just narrowly, sometimes decisively.
Specific situations in the games are shown, such as loading a save state or the comparison of the time from startup to menu on both consoles.
The games were installed on the internal hard drives of both consoles. (Via GameSpot.com)

How important are loading times to you in the next-gen consoles? Is it a reason for you to switch from Sony’s PS5 to the Series X or vice versa?
Or is it all “nice to have” but not a decisive buying argument?
We examined Microsoft’s consoles closely in our tests, focusing on online games. This is how good the Xbox Series X is for multiplayer fans. A corresponding test for the PS5 will also follow here on MeinMMO.
