Update 11:12 PM: The PlayStation account on Twitter announced that pre-orders for the PS5 will start tomorrow, September 17. However, the pre-order will only be possible at selected retailers.
No exact time was given – nor who the selected retailers are. But you can already pre-order the PS5 at several shops. You can find out which ones in our overview, which is continuously updated.

What is this leak about? The site “Frandroid” is currently reporting about the French electronics retail chain “Fnac”, which apparently has started preparing PS5 displays for their stores. The special thing is: On these promotional displays, there is text that reads “Disponible en Précommande”, meaning “Available for pre-order”.

The portal emphasizes that it is unlikely that the retail chain would present such displays in this form if the pre-order of the PlayStation 5 were still weeks away.
Something is happening on Amazon too: If you currently search for the PS5 on Amazon, you can’t find the console – even though the product listings for the console and accessories were previously available. Currently, they are no longer accessible on Amazon. It is possible that they will return later under a new product number.
