With the “Feel the Power of PlayStation” trailer, Sony confuses its PS4 and PS5 fans. Is something happening on Valentine’s Day? And if so, what?
What is this trailer about? On February 12, Sony released the new “Feel the Power of PlayStation” trailer. Players say that this is one of the creepiest clips that Sony has ever released for advertising.
What happens in the video? A group of soldiers is first seen rappelling into a tunnel and then walking through it. The tunnel is dark, and the group moves slowly, clearly on the lookout for potential dangers. The scene is accompanied by bass tones reminiscent of slowed heartbeat sounds.
As the characters reach a closed door, tension rises. With a crowbar, they force their way through and push the door open.
Behind it lies a dark room full of beating hearts. The heartbeats quicken and become distinctly audible. At the same time, the soldiers’ group shows clear signs of fear. Sweat on their faces, loud heavy breathing, confusion and panic in their expressions.
The hearts are connected to PS4 consoles via tubes. A blue liquid is pumped from the organs into the consoles. At the end of the trailer, the symbols found on the PlayStation controller are seen on the hearts. Square, Triangle, Circle, and … yes, X is not the other button.

Fans are confused – What does Sony want to tell us?
The reactions on YouTube show that fans do not quite understand this.
- “Me before the video: Hmmm, what is this? – Me after the video: Hmmm, what is this?”
- “I’m speechless … WHAT was that?”
- “Sony always makes strange, creepy advertisements that either scare you or simply confuse you. And I LOVE it.”
Many interpret the clip to mean that the beating hearts [of the players] provide the power that keeps the PlayStation alive.
Others speculate that Sony simply wants to explain: Our consoles make hearts beat faster.
Finally creepy clips again: Other players don’t care so much about what Sony wants to say with the clip. They are just happy that the ads are “finally creepy again.”

Event for Valentine’s Day?
In the info card of Sony’s video, one reads “Feel more than love this Valentine’s Day.” In connection with the beating PS4 hearts, players believe that something special could happen on the mentioned day, February 14.
Whether new information about the upcoming PlayStation 5 will actually be released on Valentine’s Day is strong speculation based on this trailer. After all, the PS5 website is already online. This speculation clearly shows that fans are eager for more information about Sony’s upcoming console.
