In the currently ongoing qualifiers for the GSA League in Rainbow Six: Siege, a professional team has shown that the right coordination can lead to a quick victory. In just a few seconds, they simply overwhelmed their opponents.
Which team is it? The professional team Aquila faced off against the team V1CTORY Esports on Saturday, May 2nd, in the fourth qualifier of the GSA League in Rainbow Six: Siege. They played the first round on the map Border while attacking.
This is how the round went: A round in Rainbow Six: Siege generally starts with the preparation phase, where the defenders fortify their positions and attackers scout with drones.
Following this is the actual game phase, in which Aquila immediately attacked. The unique aspect of the chosen defense point is that Bomb Site B is located directly next to an exterior window and close to the attackers’ spawn.
Four of Aquila’s five players moved together to this point. The fifth, LamaR.N1, covered the back side of the attack.
Within just about 20 seconds, they were already on the point and had planted the defuser – a victory condition for the attackers. They completely overwhelmed the surprised opponents, who apparently did not expect enemies to arrive at this point so quickly.
This was evident right after the start of the attack, when the opposing Smoke jumped out of a ceiling hatch and was immediately greeted by two attackers. After almost another 20 seconds, about 40 seconds after the round started, the round was won.
“Rush B”: Fastest Victory of the Qualifiers
Why is this so remarkable? Normally, rounds in Rainbow Six: Siege last longer. Players have three minutes to successfully complete an attack or defense. A round time of two minutes is generally normal, unless a player accomplishes a perfect round in a few seconds and kills all opponents.
This time is used to gather intelligence and approach strategically. Since Siege is a tactical shooter, it only takes a few hits to take down an opponent. Being outnumbered quickly becomes a disadvantage.
Therefore, teams usually take their time to secure the win and not to “rush”. Aquila, on the other hand, went all in on the attack and even played the fastest round of the qualifiers, as the commentators confirm. Both teams, however, made it to the playoffs, which start on May 3rd at 4:00 PM. So there may be a rematch.

The victory of the team shows how important coordination and communication in the team are. Everyone has their role. Aquila only lost one player because he was busy planting the defuser and did not make it out of the room in time.
The defenders, on the other hand, poorly planned and barricaded certain areas too heavily, which they could have used for quick movements. A classic example that communication is key and a good opportunity to pick up a few pro tricks to improve in Rainbow.
