This week was dominated by news surrounding the Activision Blizzard scandal and related layoffs. For that and other topics, we now have our news podcast.
Here’s what it’s about: The events surrounding the sexism lawsuit against Blizzard expanded in the past week and resulted in several changes within the developer’s leadership. President J. Allen Brack left the company, and the management has been taken over by two “co-leaders”: Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra. The head of Human Resources also had to go.
In the investor call, it was also revealed that Blizzard games lost about 1 million players in the past quarter and that Diablo Immortal has been postponed to 2022.
Outside of Blizzard, there was a clown fiesta at a major LoL tournament and trouble surrounding Destiny.
