Conan Exiles is a popular survival game that has received new DLCs since its release in 2017. However, with the latest features introduced by Funcom for their title, the developers have caused frustration among some players.
What features are we talking about? The developers of Conan Exiles announced that for the first time, the survival hit will include a Battle Pass and an in-game shop for various items with the expansion Age of Sorcery.
On the game’s website, they wrote that the included items will only be cosmetic content (via conanexiles.com).
There will be no items that strengthen the player in any way. This applies to both the Battle Pass and the in-game shop, which they call Bazaar.
Furthermore, the new Battle Pass is set to replace the previous DLC system.

How are the players reacting? Players are not thrilled about the new Battle Pass and the Bazaar, as they made clear on Twitter. MeinMMO shows you a selection of the reactions:

Battle Pass brings cosmetic items and invisibility spells
What do you need to know about the Battle Pass? The Battle Pass is supposed to have 60 levels in which you can level up by completing challenges. For each level you rise, you receive a reward.
You can also level up in the tiers even if you haven’t purchased the Battle Pass yet. This means you could, for example, buy it only once you are already at level 60. According to Funcom, you will still receive all the rewards for the levels reached until then.
Regarding the contents of the Battle Pass, Funcom makes the following statements:
- Includes recipes for crafting weapons and armor, not the finished item
- Values are equivalent to the base game
- A new feature allows you to transfer the appearance of the new equipment to other items of the same category
- Includes a range of new items like spell flasks that cause effects like “Lava Float” or invisibility and can only be used once
Crom Coins – New currency for Conan Exiles
What items are included in the Battle Pass? Funcom has published a list of the item categories for the first Battle Pass on the Conan Exiles website, which lists the following:
- Armors
- Weapons
- Building parts
- Pets
- Emotes
- Decorations
- Flasks
- War paints
- Mounts
- Saddles
- Crom Coins
What are Crom Coins? Crom Coins are a new currency introduced with the Battle Pass in Conan Exiles. According to Funcom, you will receive them every few levels of the Pass.
What are Crom Coins for? With Crom Coins, you can purchase the next Battle Pass, if you have fully played through the first or previous one, according to the developer. The included Crom Coins should be sufficient for that.
The idea behind it, as Funcom stated, is that you theoretically only need to buy the first Battle Pass and can earn all subsequent ones.
However, there is a catch: Crom Coins are also the currency with which you pay in the new in-game shop.
How does the Bazaar work? In the Bazaar, you pay with Crom Coins, which you exchange for individual cosmetic items or bundles.
There is always a limited number of items in the Bazaar, but these change over time.
While Conan Exiles is currently preparing for the major expansion Age of Sorcery, another survival game, Raft, recently left “Early Access” status. For MeinMMO author Maik Schneider, it is shortly thereafter the best survival game on Steam.
