Sea of Thieves is getting a new update that brings more content that players can enjoy at the upcoming Steam release as well. Included are cute kittens!
What update is coming? Ships of Fortune brings a variety of new features and changes aimed at making the pirate MMO Sea of Thieves more interesting. The update is scheduled for release on April 22.
Kittens are always good
What are the highlights? The focus is on your connection to the factions Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls, and Athena. It is possible to further expand collaboration. You can become an ambassador for your faction. To do this, you first donate money and can then work your way up through five levels. This will earn you valuable rewards and cosmetic items.
However, as an ambassador, you attract the attention of a new faction, The Reaper’s Bones. They hunt all other ambassadors, including you. This represents a new PvE content in Sea of Thieves.
What about the kittens? Of course, they are also important. After the update, you will find cats as premium pets on the market. You can choose between the breeds Wildcat and Ragamuffin, along with a matching mouse. The house tigers accompany you, and it is even possible to give the furry friends outfits, including cool pirate hats!
PvP battles will be shortened
What else is there? The update also changes the PvP in the game. You will no longer fight for multiple treasures on the islands, but only for one. This is intended to significantly reduce the time you spend in PvP. The developers estimate that a PvP match will now last about 15 minutes instead of an average of 24 minutes.
Additionally, a time window will be introduced in which you can revive fallen comrades before death claims them.
What about the Steam release? It is still not clear when exactly Sea of Thieves will launch on Steam. But the changes from the Ships of Fortune update will be introduced on April 22 and will already be included at the launch on Steam.
That many players are already looking forward to the Steam release of Sea of Thieves is shown by a look at the wishlist charts. As GameStar reports, seafaring adventures can be found there at number 23, ahead of Torchlight III and Iron Harvest.
