Pokémon TCG Pocket starts Venusaur Event: All Promo Cards, Challenges and More Information

Pokémon TCG Pocket starts Venusaur Event: All Promo Cards, Challenges and More Information

Collectors have the chance to snag new promo cards at the drop event featuring Venusaur in Pokémon TCG Pocket. MeinMMO reveals which deck you should bet on and what rewards await you.

What kind of event is this? Similar to the Lapras-ex event, the Venusaur event is a drop event. This means that collectors have the opportunity to receive exclusive cards that are only available during the event. All they have to do is defeat a deck that focuses on Venusaur and its pre-evolutions.

To participate in the event, you must join the CPU battles through fights. For every match won, you lose one event stamina, which refills over time or can be replenished with event hourglasses. You can even save event hourglasses across several events; they are valid for all subsequent events.

MeinMMO tells you which deck you should use against Venusaur, what rewards there are, and what you need to consider in a special challenge.

All Information about the Venusaur Event and How to Defeat It

When does the event take place? The drop event runs from November 29, 2024, at 07:00 until December 13 at 06:59. You have until then to collect all promo cards and rewards.

What new cards are there? This drop event offers 5 new cards. These are included in promo packs Series A, Vol. 2, which you can obtain by defeating one of the Venusaur decks. One of the following cards is included in the pack with the following probabilities:

  • Haunter: 23.84 %
  • Onix: 23.84 %
  • Jigglypuff: 23.84 %
  • Venusaur (Full-Art): 12.66 %
  • Quajutsu: 15.82 %

Onix and Quajutsu are the same version as from the current boosters, but they have a new design. Haunter and Jigglypuff, on the other hand, have an entirely new ability.

What battles and rewards are there? To get the rewards, you need to defeat one of the Grass Pokémon decks that have been newly added under the event battles. With each level, the difficulty of defeating the deck increases. The following rewards are available for the (first time) victory over the decks:

  • Bulbasaur
    • First time: 2 pack hourglasses, 50 Stardust, 1 shop ticket, 25 XP
    • Thereafter: 25 Stardust (100 %), 1 promo pack (51 %), 1 shop ticket (38.7 %)
  • Venusaur & Scyther
    • First time: 4 pack hourglasses, 100 Stardust, 1 shop ticket, 50 XP
    • Thereafter: 25 Stardust (100 %), 1 promo pack (64 %), 1 shop ticket (48.3 %)
  • Venusaur-ex
    • First time: 6 pack hourglasses, 150 Stardust, 1 shop ticket, 75 XP
    • Thereafter: 25 Stardust (100 %), 1 promo pack (80 %), 1 shop ticket (60.4 %)
  • Venusaur-ex & Dressella
    • First time: 8 pack hourglasses, 200 Stardust, 1 shop ticket, 100 XP
    • Thereafter: 25 Stardust (100 %), 1 promo pack (100 %), 1 shop ticket (55.5 %)

What deck should I take? To withstand the Venusaur decks, you should go for a fire Pokémon deck. Recently, there was the Mass Gathering event where you had the chance to draw new fire Pokémon.

To master the challenge in every match, only use cards up to rarity level ♢♢♢, we recommend the following cards:

  • Vulpix (2x)
  • Ninetales (2x)
  • Ponyta (2x)
  • Rapidash (2x)
  • Magmar
  • Porenta
  • Pokéball (2x)
  • X-Initiative (2x)
  • Professor’s Research (2x)
  • Sabrina (2x)
  • Pyro (2x)

Alternatively, you can switch one Vulpix/Ninetales and one Pyro for Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard. If you mastered the challenge with the rarity level everywhere, you can switch to Charizard-ex and Moltres-ex.

Is there a special challenge? When you face the “Venusaur & Scyther” deck, you must put a Pokémon to sleep. The new promo card of Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Hypno, Mottineva, and Giflor are suitable for this.

To keep you well informed about which events are currently running, MeinMMO has created the roadmap of upcoming events. This way, you will always know when to expect new cards, rewards, and battles: Pokémon TCG Pocket Roadmap – Here’s what to expect in the coming weeks
