A YouTuber challenged a coach who offers paid training duels in Pokémon GO on the internet. In a video, he shows how it went – and how he punished himself for losses.
Who is it about? The YouTuber “Poké Daxi” regularly posts new videos about Pokémon GO and has gained 356,000 subscribers with his content so far. He shows tips and tricks, but also enjoys experimenting a bit with the game.
As in an interesting video from January 14, 2023: The YouTuber hired a player who offers training matches for money on the portal “Fiverr”.
He writes about himself that he has been playing Pokémon GO since early 2016 and has “OP-teams with Pokémon for PvP battles in every league” (via fiverr).
He offers training if you want to test your team before a tournament or the start of a new battle league season – or if you simply consider yourself a “worthy Pokémon trainer”.
A set of 5 matches is offered by the trainer for €9.74, a set of 10 for €19.48, and a set of 15 for €24.36. In fact, you can find some trainers on Fiverr who offer various services for Pokémon GO.
Poké Daxi saw an exciting challenge here and faced off against the trainer.
YouTuber makes it more exciting – sends a Shiny for each loss
This is the challenge: “On Fiverr, you can hire people for various jobs – and today I technically hired a professional trainer,” explains Poké Daxi in the video.
“We will have a few battles in the Super League. And to make it exciting, there’s a twist: I told him that I’m training for Regionals and that he shouldn’t make it easy for me. But every time I lose, I have to transfer a Shiny.”
With the risk of losing some valuable Shinys, the YouTuber went into the duels. You can see how it went here in the video by Poké Daxi:
How the duels turned out: Overall, Poké Daxi played 5 matches against the “pro trainer”.
In the first match, the YouTuber did not want to go straight in with a full meta team. He used Tohaido, Melmetal, and Toxiquak – and won against Jugong, Bibor, and Nachtara.
The YouTuber’s conclusion was that he had won – but the opponent was better than he thought.
In Match 2, Poké Daxi wants to use “really strong” monsters and uses Machomei, Tangoloss, and Alola-Sandamer. His opponent brings Feelinara, Bibor, and Nachtara.
The YouTuber loses this match – and transfers a Shiny Ditto, which is quite rare, as a self-punishment .
In the third match, Poké Daxi wants to use a meta team to avoid losing any more Shinys. He uses Bisaflor, Cresselia, and Crypto-Alola-Knogga. However, he faces Altaria and Nachtara, and he doesn’t even get to see the third monster, as he is countered so quickly. As a punishment, he sends a Shiny Lugia to the professor.
In Match 4, the YouTuber competes with Azumarill, Zobiris, and Alola-Knogge – one of his favorite teams. “If I lose this, I might have to stop with PvP,” he says. However, against Tengulist, Fiaro, and Registeel, he again comes up short and sends a shiny Alola-Digdri.
The final match should be won by Noctuh, Zobiris, and Sumpex. It works against Hypno, Bibor, and Azumarill – and the YouTuber’s Shiny collection remains intact.
In the end, the YouTuber is happy about his victory, but also says: “These guys really don’t make it easy for you.”
