The second part of the Christmas event 2022 in Pokémon GO starts today, December 23. These are the bonuses, times, raids, spawns, and the optional ticket.
What kind of event is this? During Christmas time, Pokémon GO launches the big winter holiday event. It is divided into two parts. Part 1 started on Thursday, December 15 and ran until December 23. Featured Pokémon include Mega-Glalie, Alolan Vulpix, and Shiny Arctibax.
Winter Holidays 2022 Part 2 in Pokémon GO – Start, Contents Shiny
When does Part 2 run? As Niantic announced, Part 2 of the winter holidays begins today, Friday, December 23 at 10:00 AM. The event will then run until December 31, 2022, at 8:00 PM.
What Pokémon debuts are there? With the second part of the Christmas event, you can evolve a Petznief with a holiday ribbon into a Siberio with a holiday ribbon for the first time.
Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, Evoli and its evolutions Aquana, Blitza, Flamara, Psiana, Nachtara, Folipurba, Glaziola, and Feelinara will be available with holiday hats. You can also encounter Shiny Evoli.
Furthermore, you can also obtain Evoli’s evolutions with holiday hats by evolving an Evoli with a holiday hat.

What bonuses are there? During the event, you can choose between various bonuses as a reward for the limited research. Additionally, you can keep up to 40 gifts in your bag until the end of “Winter Holidays: Part 2”.
Limited research with Galar-Pantimos: During the second part of the winter event, there will be a limited research where you can choose your reward. You will receive this for hatching eggs, catching Pokémon, or collecting stardust. Your selection will determine which tasks you need to complete during the event and which bonuses you receive.
Additionally, all trainers who complete the research will have the opportunity to encounter Galar-Pantimos and other winter Pokémon.
Wild Pokémon: During the event from December 23 to 31, you will encounter the following Pokémon in the wild. The Pokémon marked with a star (*) can be encountered as Shiny.

Exclusive attacks: If you catch a Kyurem between Friday, December 23, 2022, at 10 AM and Sunday, January 1, 2023, at 10 AM, it learns the exclusive attack “Ice Age”. It deals 60 damage in trainer battles and 160 damage in gym and raid battles.
Raid Day with Hisui-Arctilass: On Saturday, December 24, there is a Raid Day with Hisui-Arctilass, which appears in level 3 battles and is also available as a shiny variant.
- Hisui-Arctilass appears more frequently in raid battles.
- You will receive up to five additional free raid passes when you spin the photo discs at gyms.
- The chance of shiny Hisui-Arctilass is increased.
Eggs: From the 7 km eggs you receive during the event, the following Pokémon can hatch:

Field research: During the event, there will also be special field research tasks. By completing these field research tasks, you will encounter Pikachu in Winter Carnival Outfit*, Alolan Sandan*, Jurob*, Muschas*, Rossana*, Evoli with Holiday Hat*, Botogel with Holiday Ribbon*, Petznief with Holiday Ribbon*, and Krabbox.
Rarely, you will also encounter Sniebel* and Glaziola* with Underwater Holiday Outfit.
For certain tasks, you will receive Mega Energy for Rexblisar.

Mini-Event with Collector Challenge and Lucky Trade
When is the mini-event? From Saturday, December 24 at 10:00 AM to Sunday, December 25 at 8:00 PM, the event “Winter Wonderland” will occur in Pokémon GO.
Change in Lucky Trade? Niantic increases the number of Lucky Pokémon you can guarantee to receive when trading from 10 to 15. Additionally, you will now receive a guaranteed Lucky Pokémon if you trade a Pokémon that has been in a trainer’s Pokémon box since 2017 until you reach this limit.
Bonuses of the mini-event?
- One additional special trade per day
- Daily adventure incense lasts for 30 minutes during the event
Collector Challenge: There will be a collector challenge “Winter Wonderland”. If you complete this successfully by December 25 at 8:00 PM, you will receive XP, incense, and have the chance to encounter a Galar-Pantimos.
Ticket for Limited Research on Winter Holidays Part 1
What does it cost? You can get the ticket for 5 US dollars (about 5 €).
What does it include? The ticket is optional and is not required to obtain the bonuses mentioned above. If you purchase the ticket, you will unlock limited research, from which you will receive the following:
- An event avatar pose
- Two incubators
- One incense
- Mega Energy for Rexblisar
- Encounters with various event Pokémon
How long does it run? You must complete the research before Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 8:00 PM. This means that tasks need to be completed and rewards collected by then.
If you don’t have time to play Pokémon GO during the holidays in December, you can look forward to the Community Day at the beginning of January. The focus will be on Igamaro, a starter from the sixth generation.
