In Pokémon GO the big Valentine’s Day event has started. We show you the 5 new field research tasks and all the shinies that await you.
How long does the event last? The Valentine’s Day event started this morning, February 14th, at 10 AM. It runs through the weekend and ends on Monday, February 17th at 10 PM.
The event brings new quests, raid bosses, and spawns to Pokémon GO. We at MeinMMO give you the overview.
All about Quests, Spawns, and Shinies
These field research tasks await you: There are a total of 5 new field research tasks that you can find. We show you what they include:
- Catch 5 Slowpoke or Flurmel
- Reward: 1000 Stardust
- Catch 14 Luvdisc
- Reward: Encounter with a Mamolida
- Evolve a Budew
- Reward: Encounter with a Kigugi
- Hatch 3 eggs
- Reward: Encounter with a Slurp
- Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts
- Reward: Encounter with a Chansey
Especially the quest with the 3 Rocket Grunts should be interesting. Here you can earn Chansey as a reward, which can also be shiny for the first time. So it is worth collecting several of these quests and completing them together. This way, you can earn up to 3 Chansey at once.
What spawns are there? Here it’s all about pink Pokémon. The list of spawns is filled with Pokémon that are pink or rose-colored. So there are:
- Chansey*
- Clefairy
- Wailmer
- Budew
- Jigglypuff
- Luvdisc*
- Miltank
- Porygon
- Eneco
- Flurmel
- Snubbull*
- Slowpoke
All Pokémon with a star can also be caught as shiny.
The potential shinies are not many. Only 3 of the event spawns appear as shiny. In return, you have several Pokémon that consume quite a few balls, like Wailmer or Miltank.
What about new raid bosses? There are also new Pokémon in the raids. Here too, the monsters are mostly pink. The exact list of raid bosses will be published soon on MeinMMO.
What new shinies are there? Only the Chansey family is new as shiny. Wonneira can be found in 7 km eggs, and Chansey appears in the wild, in raids, and in quests.
This Pokémon is missing: The Pandir with hearts on its body is not appearing. This Pokémon was available at last year’s Valentine’s Day event.
This year, players still had hope for it, but as it looks, the special Pandir is not there.
