Today marks the start of another Field Research Day in Pokémon GO. We have looked into when it takes place and what to expect.
When does the Research Day take place? The event will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024. It starts at 2:00 PM and will run until 5:00 PM.
What kind of event is this? A Research Day is an event where the field research takes center stage. Unlike the Spotlight Hours, Research Days occur irregularly.
You will receive Field Research by spinning PokéStops. This time, the focus is on Flying-type Pokémon. During the event, you will receive Field Research that can reward you with the following Pokémon:
- Pidgey*
- Doduo*
- Hoothoot*
- Swa blue*
- Geronimatz*
* The chance of encountering a shiny form of these Pokémon from Field Research is increased during the event. If you’re aiming for these shinies, you should take advantage of the event and complete as many Field Research tasks as possible.
Additional Content of the Research Day
Which Pokémon are in the wild? In addition to the Pokémon from Field Research, there are also wild Pokémon that you can encounter during the event. These include the following:
- Pidgey*
- Corvus*
- Wingull*
- Staraptor*
- Dusclops*
- Dartrix*
The Pokémon marked with a * can also appear as shinies, but the chance of encountering a shiny version is not additionally increased here as it is with the Pokémon from Field Research.
Paid Limited Research: On Research Day, you also have the option to purchase a paid limited research for $1 (approximately 1 €). This includes additional Field Research tasks where you can have more encounters with an event Pokémon of your choice. You can choose one from the following Pokémon:
- Pidgey*
- Doduo*
- Hoothoot*
- Swa blue*
- Geronimatz*
* The shiny chance for these encounters is also increased, as it is with regular Field Research.
You have until the event ends on May 11, 2024, at 5:00 PM to complete the tasks of the limited research and receive the rewards. Afterward, the rewards can no longer be collected.
