A new Pokémon game has been announced: “Legends Z-A.” The new installment of the series also allows players in Pokémon GO to look forward to the future.
What kind of new game is this? The new “Pokémon Legends: Z-A” was announced during Pokémon Presents on February 27, 2024.
The game’s release is planned for 2025 for the Switch. The first trailer also shows the setting of the game.
It takes place in Illumina City, a huge city in the Kalos region, which we already know from the games “Pokémon X” and “Pokémon Y.” However, everything seems to have a futuristic touch in the trailer. Additionally, it is a new game in the “Legends” series, which started with “Pokémon Legends: Arceus.”

Pokémon GO: Trainers hope for more Megas for their game
In general, the trailer was well-received by many Pokémon fans, and it is already being eagerly discussed in the Pokémon GO community (via reddit). The focus is mainly on the Mega emblem at the end of the trailer.
Because: Mega Evolutions were originally introduced with the games of the sixth generation, X and Y. Now, cool, new Mega Evolutions are being hoped for, as they generally represent a popular feature in the Pokémon world.

- “I really think Dragonite will get the Mega treatment. Gen 6 was all about nostalgia, but the original dragon didn’t get any love,” speculated user Dengarsw (via reddit).
- “I pray to Arceus that this means more Megas will come to Pogo! Mega-Liberation, here we come…” (via reddit).
The second point that GO trainers hope for is an update for the Pokémon Zygarde in Pokémon GO. The monster originally appeared with Yveltal and Xerneas in X and Y. In light of the new title “Pokémon Legends: Z-A,” trainers now assume that Zygarde will be somewhat in focus – also because the “Z” in the title is designed accordingly. As for what the “A” stands for, that is still open.
Zygarde already exists in Pokémon GO, but so far only one could be obtained. And obtaining its different forms is quite a difficult endeavor, as one has to collect many rare Zygarde cells on routes. That takes a long time – and some now hope that the Zygarde forms will be easier to obtain and that at least more specimens of the monster can be caught.

However, all of this is still just speculation – after all, not much is known yet about the new game itself, aside from the setting and release year. But “Legends: Arceus” was also incorporated into Pokémon GO in the form of Hisui Pokémon. So here’s hoping that “Legends: Z-A” will also find its way into Pokémon GO.
One thing is certain about one of the next events in Pokémon GO: A crossover with the series Pokémon: Horizons will start soon.
