What contents are involved? In Pokémon GO, you earn experience points (XP) in various situations, such as catching Pokémon, spinning PokéStops, or evolving your monsters. You need these to level up your trainer level. So, anyone wanting to reach level 50 has to farm a lot of them.
However, trainers are often cheated out of these valuable XP. This also happened to Reddit user ChrisSOAD, who lost a whole 100,000 experience points due to an important feature. How that is possible and what another player has to do with it, we will explain to you below.
Trainer loses 100,000 XP due to the behavior of another
What feature is involved? To collect a lot of XP in Pokémon GO, many players use the friends feature. Through this, you can befriend other trainers and level up your friendship level through regular interactions, such as exchanging gifts, joint raids, or trading.
For each level reached, both friends receive a certain amount of XP. This way, you can secure 100,000 XP at the Best Friends
status and even double that in combination with a Lucky Egg. Reddit user ChrisSOAD also used this feature and is now frustrated by a huge fail.
As he reveals in the comments, he reached the Best Friends
status for the first time and was excited about the reward. But instead of being able to rejoice in a decent amount of XP, he simply received nothing, as he shows in his post.
Why didn’t he receive XP? The reason for this loss of XP is the behavior of the other trainer. This trainer triggered the level-up and removed ChrisSOAD from his friends list after the crediting of his own XP – with the consequence that ChrisSOAD simply does not receive his XP at the next login in the game.
Trainers are angry and demand a solution
Problem keeps occurring: ChrisSOAD is not the first trainer to lose valuable XP in this way. Players are continually criticizing the reckless behavior of others and are angry about it.
To achieve the Best Friends
status, 90 days of mutual interactions are necessary, making it all the more frustrating when the effort was in vain. You can find numerous reports about this in the comments on Reddit:

Trainers demand a solution: Other players also see Niantic as being responsible. From their perspective, it should simply be handled on the system side. Trainers should still receive their XP despite such behavior. Some are advising ChrisSOAD to contact support with the image and ask for a solution.
But other solutions from the developers’ side would also be conceivable from the perspective of some to manage such situations better in the future, as can be read in the Reddit comments:

I recently suggested to one of my friends that Niantic should arrange it so that when you reach a friend’s milestone, you cannot unfriend them for at least 12 hours, so they have a little window to log in and receive their XP.
