In Pokémon GO it is important for many players to have a high level. However, one trainer has set a special challenge for himself and achieved a remarkable milestone. We at MeinMMO show you what he has done.
What levels are involved? Alongside friends and buddy Pokémon, not only can the individual monsters level up, but so can the trainers themselves. This is particularly important at the beginning, as it also increases the level of your monsters and allows you to power them up further.
You can reach a maximum level of 50 since the end of 2020. However, the path to this is not easy, as you need not only a lot of XP but also have to complete various tasks starting from level 40. One trainer has now set a very special challenge for ascending a level. We will show you what it was.
Trainer sets a special challenge
What did the trainer do? As the Reddit user JuanG12 shows in his post, he has achieved a remarkable milestone. He shows a picture of his level up to level 44, with a conspicuous statistic where all listed points are at zero.
However, this is by no means a mistake, as JuanG12 has indeed reached the step from level 43 to level 44 without catching Pokémon, completing raids, or visiting PokéStops.
How did he achieve this milestone?
Existing XP: Many trainers have also wondered how one can achieve such a feat. To go from level 43 to 44, one has to gather 11 million XP and additionally win 30 trainer battles each in the Great, Ultra, and Master Leagues, as well as play 20 times in the GO Battle League.
For many, it is therefore unavoidable to catch monsters or spin PokéStops to gather the required XP. And JuanG12 could not entirely avoid this either. He explains in the comments that he was stuck at level 41 for a long time and therefore already gathered enough XP for the level up to level 44 there.
After successfully ascending from level 42 to 43 within a few days, he set a very personal challenge for the next level. He wanted to try to succeed without catching monsters, spinning PokéStops, or completing raids.
Challenge in the GO Battle League: Since he had already gathered the complete XP for level 44, he only had to participate in battles in the GO Battle League. Even though he was not primarily confronted with catching here, it still became a small challenge. He was not allowed to receive any Pokémon as rewards, which meant he could win no more than 2 battles per set.
And this turned out to be harder than he thought, as he reveals in a comment (via reddit.com): However, I tanked most sets by fighting Pokémon with low CP. Originally, I wanted to win 2 and lose 3, but then I came across someone I assumed was also tanking and thought I was done. Fortunately, he attacked and won. After that, I didn’t want to risk it anymore.
To avoid risking anything during the numerous battles, he completed his remaining fights against a friend who allowed him to win. In this way, he could ensure that he actually didn’t have to catch any monsters. These are not part of the rewards in trainer battles with friends.
Can this challenge be done at all levels?
This is possible at these levels: Those who want to attempt this challenge themselves should pay attention to the corresponding level. While you only need experience points for level ups from level 0 to 40, you must solve various tasks starting from level 40.
Therefore, the ascents from level 43 to 44, level 47 to 48, and level 48 to 49 are especially suitable. In these, you are not dependent on Pokémon, raids, or PokéStops for tasks.
