Due to a glitch, this trainer’s Slugma appears in a completely different color than you know from Pokémon GO. However, the players in the community really like it. They are asking if it will stay like this permanently.
What is it about? In the Reddit of Pokémon GO, a trainer shared two screenshots of one of his Slugma. The user named Liidero suspects that he has caught the rarest specimen of this Pokémon. The images show Slugma, which should actually be red, almost completely dark. Only the eyes are glowing.
This special appearance of Slugma is well-received in the community. We will show you the pictures and reactions here.
“Cool, will this be forever?”
This is what Slugma looks like: Due to a bug in the game, Slugma already had the wrong colors at the catch screen. Even in the PokéDex, the unusual form was visible, which was likely caused by a bug.

Slugma should actually appear in a bright red. The snail Pokémon is currently in focus of the community, as for the event “Mountains of Power”, Slugma is available for the first time as a Shiny. However, even the shiny form should not appear as dark as seen in the screenshots from Liidero. We show you how the Shinies look in the following graphic:
This is how the players react: On Reddit, the unusual color of Slugma is surprisingly well received. Many joke and write things like “It seems to have been splashed with water” or “It looks like it was blown up with dynamite like in a cartoon”
Others, however, showed great interest in the form and wrote:
- “Cool! Do you know if this stays permanently?”
- “No kidding, that’s really cool”
- “Man, they should really make such a [form], because it looks much cooler”
The question of whether the Pokémon will remain in the dark color permanently was negated by the trainer. When he once returned to the map and then looked back into his Pokémon collection, the Slugma had returned to its normal color. This suggests that it was really just a graphic glitch.
