What is a raid hour? This event takes place every Wednesday in Pokémon GO and brings a legendary raid to almost every gym for one hour.
This week is all about Lavados. It is the only raid hour with the legendary Pokémon, as another monster will appear in level 5 raids on Friday.

When does the raid hour start? The event runs from 6:00 PM German time until 7:00 PM. Occasionally, latecomers may still log in after 7:00 PM.
What are the best counters? Lavados is of the fire and flying types. It is therefore weak against water, rock, and electric types. You should mainly choose rock-type Pokémon, as it has a double weakness against them.

- Rihornior with Catapult and Rock Throw
- Terrakium with Catapult and Rock Slide
- Rameidon with Catapult and Rock Slide
- Despotar with Catapult and Stone Edge
- Brockoloss with Catapult and Rock Slide
- Aerodactyl with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
- Amoroso with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
- Demeteros with Rock Throw and Rock Slide
- Geowaz with Rock Throw and Stone Edge
- Alolan Geowaz with Rock Throw and Stone Edge
How many trainers are needed for Lavados? The legendary Pokémon can already be defeated by two players – even at level 25. However, we recommend a group size of 4 to 5 players to be faster and complete more raids within the hour.
Are there shiny Lavados? Yes! You can catch the shiny version of Lavados. You can tell the difference quite clearly, as the shiny is darker.

Are Lavados raids worth it? The legendary Pokémon is among the best fire attackers in Pokémon GO. Raids are definitely worthwhile, and if you don’t have good fire attackers yet, this is a good opportunity to strengthen your team.
Otherwise, Lavados is still exciting for shiny hunters. It last appeared in raids over a year ago. So, one should take this chance before it disappears again.
