Today, on November 24, 2021, the last Raid Hour with Cresselia is taking place in Pokémon GO. We from MeinMMO have looked at which counters you should use against the legendary raid boss and will tell you whether the short event is worth it.
What is a Raid Hour? Every Wednesday, a one-hour raid event takes place in Pokémon GO. During this event, you encounter legendary monsters in level 5 raids in almost all gyms.
This week, you will face the raid boss Cresselia again, just as you did last Wednesday. However, today it will be the last time that it is available in the raid hour.
Raid Hour with Cresselia – Start and Counters
When does the Raid Hour start? Like every week, the raid hour also starts today at 6:00 PM local time. You can already see in advance, based on the dark eggs over the gyms, where a level 5 raid will start. At 7:00 PM, it’s already over and the raids will become less frequent.
The best counters against Cresselia
Cresselia is a legendary monster and belongs to the Psychic Pokémon. Due to its type, it is particularly weak against the attacks of Ghost, Dark, and Bug types. Therefore, use these monsters in battle (via pokebattler.com):
| Pokémon | Moveset |
| (Shadow) Snibunna | Body Slam and Leech Life |
| (Shadow) Mewtwo | Psychic Blade and Shadow Ball* |
| (Shadow) Houndoom | Body Slam and Leech Life |
| (Shadow) Chandelure | Overheat and Shadow Ball |
| (Shadow) Banette | Dark Claw and Shadow Ball |
| Darkrai | Body Slam and Shadow Ball |
| Giratina (Altered Forme) | Dark Claw and Shadow Ball |
| (Shadow) Tyranitar | Bite and Crunch |
Of course, you can also rely on your Mega Evolutions:
- Mega Gengar with Dark Claw and Shadow Ball
- Mega Houndoom with Body Slam and Leech Life
- Mega Absol with Body Slam and Foul Play

Is Cresselia worth it?
Is there Cresselia as Shiny? Yes, Cresselia can be obtained in its shiny form with a bit of luck. You can recognize it by its purple back, the blue decorations on its neck and head, and the green-yellow tail.
How strong is it: Cresselia can score particularly well in defense. Thus, it plays a role mainly in the Super and Ultra League. In terms of offense, it is somewhat weaker, so you should rather rely on other monsters in raids.
Who should take advantage of the raid hour today? Cresselia is particularly interesting for trainers who are still looking for a strong Psychic Pokémon for the PvP League. But shiny hunters can also benefit today.
Those who need one or two Cresselia candies should also take their chance today. The legendary monster will be available in level 5 raids only until December 1 at 10:00 AM.
From Friday, there will be four additional raid hours through the Hoopa event, during which other legendary Pokémon will dominate the level 5 raids. We have looked at which ones and what else to expect from this event.
