If you have been raiding in the last few days, you will have noticed that there are significantly more legendary raids. In return, the other raids have been significantly reduced.
Players love this change and hope that this is not only the case for the Raid week with Latias, but that it will remain in the long term. Especially for players in smaller towns, this would be a significant improvement.
What is behind the raid change
How is it noticeable? Anyone playing in an area with multiple gyms cannot avoid the legendary raids. Latias and Palkia are everywhere in the gyms and you hardly see smaller raids.
This is how it looks now: There are no exact numbers on the raids, but on Reddit you can find approximate measurements. Now about 67% of all raids are legendary. Previously, this rate was about 30%.
The chance of encountering a Latias is also significantly higher. There are about 80% Latias as raid boss and only 20% Palkia.

Happy players: Players are thrilled with these changes. Never before could so many raids be started back-to-back. Additionally, there is the shiny Latias, which attracts numerous players outside.
As it says on Reddit: “I just did 16 legendary raids in a row. I’ve never managed that many. I love it!”
That’s why it’s so good: Especially for players in smaller towns, this change is enormously beneficial. They now also have the opportunity to complete multiple raids back-to-back and not feel disadvantaged because they have fewer gyms available.
How long will this last? There is no information on whether this was a long-term change or only related to the raid week of Latias. This week ends on March 1. You definitely have time to take advantage of the increased legendary raids until then.
It remains to be seen whether this change will also remain with a new raid boss starting March 2.
