In Pokémon GO, the Lake Trio is currently available in raids. These 3 Pokémon are very weak, and players wish for a change.
This problem exists: Since the end of April, you can find Selfe, Tobutz, and Vesprit in the raids depending on the region. Here in Germany, there is only Vesprit. These Pokémon are very weak. Especially Selfe and Vesprit are nearly useless in battle.
This has gone so far that players no longer fight in raids but only wait in the lobby until other trainers defeat the legendary Pokémon. They themselves only want the rewards and don’t even catch the Pokémon.
How useless is the Lake Trio?
This problem exists with the Lake Trio: All three Pokémon are Psychic type. This type has significantly stronger Pokémon that overshadow the Lake Trio. So if you are looking for a good Psychic attacker, you should not rely on the Lake Trio.
How useless are the Pokémon really? Tobutz, which can be caught in America, is the most useful here. Vesprit and Selfe, on the other hand, have almost no value.
They have weak attack values, and compared to Mewtwo or Espeon, they perform significantly worse.
This problem exists with the type: Not only does the Psychic type already have enough good Pokémon, but it is also simply used too infrequently.
Psychic is effective against Fighting and Poison types. Right now, you can use Psychic Pokémon well in Machoke raids, but otherwise not at all. So what’s the point of a Psychic Pokémon that doesn’t even have good stats?
This is the situation in Asia: Asian players report on Reddit that in their Selfe raids, there are often players in the lobby who do not participate in the battle.
They are just there to use their daily raid pass and then grab the rewards. They typically don’t catch Selfe afterwards. So the situation is similar to here.
Of course, it must be said that Selfe is even worse than Vesprit, yet the European Pokémon is not much more useful.
When will new Legendaries arrive? Officially, the Lake Trio will remain in raids until May 27th. However, there could very well be a raid week with another Pokémon announced in between. Recently, some quests were found for that.
After May, many players fear that the Lake Trio will rotate, and we will receive the next of the 3 Lake Pokémon. However, this is unlikely, because Niantic confirmed that the monsters should stay in their region.
