In Pokémon GO today, on December 16, 2021, the Christmas event has started. We at MeinMMO have looked at which monsters, shinies, and bonuses you can expect from the first event part.
What kind of event is it? Due to the upcoming Christmas holidays, there will be a themed holiday event in Pokémon GO. You can look forward to numerous spawns and features the game has in store for you during the holiday season.
When does the event start? The Christmas event started on December 16, 2021, at 10:00 AM local time and will run until the end of the year, on December 31, 2021, at 8:00 PM local time. The event will be divided into two event sections (via pokemongolive.com):
- Pokémon GO Holidays Part 1: December 16, 2021, at 10:00 AM to December 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM
- Pokémon GO Holidays Part 2: December 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM to December 31, 2021, at 8:00 PM
All spawns and shinies for the 1st part of the Christmas event
During the first event part, you can naturally look forward to numerous Pokémon. Some of them have even dressed up especially for you. So keep an eye out for costumed monsters like Pikachu, Botogel, Damhirplex, Seemops, Petznief, and Glaziola in the wild and in raids.
Below, we have summarized all spawns and raid bosses for the first part of the holiday event and marked all monsters that you can also encounter in their shiny variant with a (*).

All bonuses for the Christmas event
In addition to the changed spawns and raid bosses, you can also look forward to one or another bonus. The following bonuses will be available from the Christmas event starting December 16, 2021:
- open up to 45 gifts daily
- storage limit increased to up to 40 gifts
- Rocket grunts use water and ice Pokémon more frequently in battles
- special CP boost for Mega Rexblisar
Additionally, you can look forward to the following features in the game:
- New event quests during the 1st event part
- Reward: Encounter with Pikachu wearing a Christmas hat*, Alola Vulpix*, Quiekel*, Christmas Damhirplex*, Christmas Seemops*, Christmas Petznief* and Frigometri
- New special research for the seasonal origin
- Holiday Cup in the PvP League
- New feature: Postcard book
- Event stickers (in gifts, at PokéStops and in the shop)
During the Christmas event weekend, on December 18 and 19, the Community Day will also take place. This C-Day in December will be huge and bring you 25 monsters, including Kaumalat, Wablu, and Sheinux.

In the in-game shop, you can expect new avatar items as well as changed contents in the boxes during the Christmas event:
- Festive avatar items:

- Jacket
- Shorts
- Boxes in the in-game shop:
- Special box with 50 Pokéballs, 2 Premium Battle Passes, 2 Super Incubators, and 3 Lucky Eggs for 480 PokéCoins
- Hyper box with 25 Ultra Balls, 18 Raid Passes, 5 Super Incubators, and 5 Lures for 1,480 PokéCoins
- Adventure box with 18 Super Incubators, 2 Incubators, 2 Lures, and 4 Lucky Eggs for 1,480 PokéCoins
