In Pokémon GO started today, on June 25, the big bug event called “Bug Crabbing”. We will show you what to look forward to.
When does the event start? The event started early today, on July 26, at 8:00 AM local time. You can take advantage of the bonuses until July 1 at 10:00 PM local time.
During the event period, everything revolves around bug Pokémon and the item incense is in the spotlight.
All Info on the Big Bug Crabbing
Here are the bonuses: The list of bonuses is long and focuses a lot on the Bug-type monsters:
- In the wild, in quests, in raids, and in 5km eggs, more bug Pokémon will appear, such as Scyther, Toxapex, and Lithomith
- Shiny Lithomith appears for the first time in Pokémon GO
- Double XP for catching Pokémon
- The item incense attracts more bug Pokémon. The Pokémon differ on the days:
- From Friday, June 26 at 8 AM to Saturday, June 27 at 11:59 PM (local time), Nincada will mainly appear in incense
- From Sunday, June 28 at 12 PM to Monday, June 29 at 11:59 PM (local time), Wurmple will appear more frequently in incense
- From Tuesday, June 30 at 12 PM to Wednesday, July 1 at 10:00 PM (local time), more Scyther will be in the incense
What can be said about the spawns? This could become a real paradise for shiny hunters during this event! There are several bug Pokémon that you can encounter in their shiny version. In our shiny list, you will find a detailed overview of all available shinies.
These include, among others, Caterpie, Metapod, Scyther, Pinsir, or Nincada. You could score quite a bit.
This will not take place: Normally, a raid day with Pinsir was also supposed to take place on Sunday. However, this was spontaneously canceled. Niantic did not provide a specific reason for this.
Is the event worth it? The Bug Crabbing should be especially interesting due to the incense bonus. Due to the corona adaptations, the incense is already better and now it even attracts event Pokémon specifically.
