1. Rayquaza
Best Moveset: Dragon Tail and Outrage
The strongest Dragon attacker is Rayquaza. The legendary Pokémon comes from Generation 3 and is of the Dragon and Flying type.
Rayquaza impresses especially with a high Attack value, but it can also score points in its Stamina. With its moveset of Dragon Tail and Outrage, it deals significant damage to the opponent.
Can you catch Shiny Rayquaza? Yes, the shiny form of Rayquaza is already available in the game. You can recognize it by its black body. Rayquaza can occasionally be found in Level 5 raids.
2. Dialga
Best Moveset: Fire Breath and Draco Meteor
Dialga is a legendary Pokémon of the Steel and Dragon type. It also benefits from strong Attack and Stamina values, which are slightly weaker compared to Rayquaza. However, Dialga is somewhat better in defense and can withstand more in battle.
In battle, Dialga relies on a combination of Fire Breath and Draco Meteor. However, this is slower than Rayquaza’s best moveset and takes a relatively long time before the charge attack can be executed. But when it hits, it deals a lot of damage.
Is Dialga available as Shiny? Yes, you can catch Shiny Dialga. You’ll find it in a Level 5 raid with some luck. Visually, it is distinguished by a green body from its normal form.
3. Palkia
Best Moveset: Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor
The counterpart to Dialga is the legendary Water and Dragon Pokémon Palkia, which also comes from Generation 4. In terms of Attack value, Palkia is slightly stronger than Dialga, but it doesn’t quite reach Rayquaza.
In Stamina and Defense, it can only rely on solid values, making it more susceptible in battle. With its moveset of Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor, it deals significant damage, but it takes longer to charge Draco Meteor than Rayquaza needs for Outrage.
Can you catch Shiny Palkia? Yes, Shiny Palkia is already available in the game and can be found in a Level 5 raid with some luck. The shiny version has a pink body.
4. Knakrack
Best Moveset: Dragon Tail and Outrage
Knakrack is a Dragon and Ground Pokémon and is the final evolution of Kaumalat. Its Attack value is slightly lower than Dialga’s. However, it can score with a higher Stamina value.
With the attack combination Dragon Tail and Outrage, it deals significant damage to the opponent, just like Rayquaza. Additionally, it is not only particularly strong as a Dragon attacker, as Knakrack also ranks among the best Ground attackers in Pokémon GO.
Can you catch Shiny Knakrack? Shiny Knakrack is already available in Pokémon GO. However, you must first catch a Shiny Kaumalat and evolve it to Knakrack through Knarksel.
This can be found regularly in eggs and field research, but also in the wild. Especially in windy and sunny weather, you should keep an eye out for it. The shiny form of Knakrack can be recognized by its gray-blue body color.
5. Zekrom
Best Moveset: Fire Breath and Outrage
Another strong Dragon attacker is the legendary Pokémon Zekrom. The monster comes from the 5th generation and is of the Dragon and Electric type.
Zekrom also boasts a very high Attack value and can compete with Palkia. In Stamina, it is even slightly better than the Water and Dragon Pokémon. With Outrage, Zekrom has a strong charge attack. The fast attack Fire Breath is, however, slightly worse than Dragon Tail.
Can you catch Shiny Zekrom? Yes, Zekrom can be found in Level 5 raids at irregular intervals, and it can also be caught in its shiny form with a bit of luck. However, you need to look closely, as the two variants differ only slightly in color.
6. Brutalanda
Best Moveset: Dragon Tail and Outrage
The Dragon and Flying Pokémon Brutalanda is the final evolution of Kindwurm and comes from Generation 3. It also impresses with high Attack and Stamina values.
However, its Defense is only average, so it can quickly take damage in battle. However, it deals significant damage with both its fast attack Dragon Tail and its charge attack Outrage.
Can you catch Shiny Brutalanda? To get the shiny form of Brutalanda, you must first catch a Shiny Kindwurm and then evolve it to Brutalanda through Draschel. You can find it in the wild as well as in field research and eggs. A shiny Brutalanda can be recognized by its green body.
7. Reshiram
Best Moveset: Fire Breath and Draco Meteor
Reshiram is also a really strong Dragon attacker. The legendary Pokémon of the Dragon and Fire type comes from the 5th generation. Like the other legendary monsters, it can be found in Level 5 raids from time to time.
Reshiram’s Attack, Stamina, and Defense values are identical to those of Zekrom. So it can also score well in Attack. With a moveset of Fire Breath and Draco Meteor, it has a strong charge attack, but it takes some time to load it.
For this reason, the moveset of Reshiram is slightly worse than that of Zekrom, placing it only in 7th place in the ranking of the best Dragon attackers. However, in the best Fire attackers in Pokémon GO, Reshiram can impress the most.
Is Shiny Reshiram available? Yes, you can catch Shiny Reshiram. You can recognize it by the golden stripes on its tail.
8. Dragoran
Best Moveset: Dragon Tail and Outrage
Not quite as strong, but still a top Dragon attacker is the Dragon and Flying Pokémon Dragoran. The Pokémon from Generation 1 is the final evolution of Dratini.
Dragoran impresses with high Attack and Stamina values, which can compete with Knakrack. With Dragon Tail and Outrage, it can also benefit from a strong attack combination that deals significant damage.
Can you catch Shiny Dragoran? Dragoran is available in its shiny form in the game. To get it, you need to catch a Shiny Dratini and evolve it to Dragoran through Dragonir. Dratini can be found in the wild as well as regularly in field research. Shiny Dragoran has a green body and dark wing insides.
9. Maxax
Best Moveset: Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw
Another strong Dragon Pokémon is Maxax. The monster from the 5th generation is the final evolution of Milza. However, this little dragon is very rarely found in Pokémon GO.
Maxax has an enormous Attack value that is equivalent to that of Rayquaza. However, its Stamina and Defense values are not quite as strong, which is why it may not last long in battle.
In Attack, Maxax relies on a combination of Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw. This combination is relatively fast and deals significant damage to the opponent.

10. Latios
Best Moveset: Fire Breath and Dragon Claw
Latios is a legendary Pokémon of the Dragon and Psychic type. It comes from Generation 3. The Attack value of Latios is slightly better than that of Dragoran. However, it cannot score as well in Stamina and Defense. Thus, it withstands less in battle.
With Fire Breath and Dragon Claw, it has two relatively fast attacks, but in this combination, they do less damage than the movesets of the other attackers. Thus, it only takes 10th place in our ranking.
Is Shiny Latios available? Yes, you can catch Shiny Latios. It is occasionally available in Level 5 raids. You can recognize it by its green body.
The best Crypto Dragon attackers

- Crypto-Dragoran with Dragon Tail and Outrage
That’s why Crypto Pokémon are worthwhile: Unlike other monsters, Crypto Pokémon benefit from a special attack bonus that deals 20% more damage to the opponent. However, they are somewhat weaker in defense, which is why they don’t last as long in battle.
The best Mega Dragon attackers

That’s why Mega Evolutions are worthwhile: Some Pokémon have a temporary Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO. This can be triggered with appropriate Mega Energy. Mega Evolutions are slightly stronger compared to other monsters.
Even though Mega Gyarados is not a Dragon Pokémon, but of the Water and Dark types, it deals significant damage with its moveset of Dragon Tail and Outrage. Mega Charizard X and Y, on the other hand, have a fast attack combination.
The benefit of Mega Charizard X: Especially using Mega Charizard X is particularly beneficial for you, as the Pokémon belongs to the Fire and Dragon types. Thus, its Dragon attacks are boosted, and all other Pokémon of this type benefit from an additional attack bonus in raids.
Similar applies to Mega Ampharos. This Pokémon is of the Electric and Dragon types. However, it only has a charge attack of the Dragon type, which is why it has to rely on the Electric attack Volt Switch for its fast attack.
Its moveset is very fast and deals significant damage, but Electric attacks are less effective against other Dragons, which is why it only ranks in 4th place.
