Annually, the big Psychic Spectacle takes place in Pokémon GO. Over the course of about 5 days, content will be activated for you to use. We at MeinMMO will show you how to best approach this.
When does the event take place? The Psychic Spectacle 2023 starts tomorrow, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM German time. Until Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 8:00 PM, you will have the opportunity to extensively play the new content and benefit from the bonuses.
The content includes a new Shiny, changes in raids and spawns, and you can also earn more experience.
What bonuses are there? During the Psychic Spectacle, you will receive more experience when catching Pokémon with curveball throws. However, the exact amount of experience you gain has not yet been disclosed by the developer Niantic.
Nonetheless, it is certain that catching during this period should be more rewarding if you swing your ball beforehand. The event had a similar focus on curveballs last year too.
Overview of the Psychic Spectacle 2023 – All about Raids, Pokémon, and Shiny
What new Shiny is there? For the first time, you have the chance to encounter Shiny-Monozyto in Pokémon GO. To increase the likelihood of this, a Limited Research
is running simultaneously, which revolves around curveballs, thus promising you more experience.
By completing the individual tasks, you will receive Monozyto encounters. These are not necessarily shiny, but each one is a chance to obtain the coveted new Shiny. While it is not among the strongest Psychic attackers, it adds to your collection.
How do the spawns change? As the name suggests, you will again have a higher chance of encountering Psychic Pokémon during the Psychic Spectacle 2023. Which ones precisely were also revealed:

- Owei*
- Girafarig*
- Trasla*
- Meditie*
- Spoink*
- Mollimorba
- Monozyto*
- Pygraulon*
- Also rarely: Galar-Ponita*, Galar-Flegmon* and Bronzel*
- Pokémon marked with a star (*) can be encountered as Shiny
There are also some changes in raids during the event period, focusing on Psychic Pokémon. You have the chance for the following raid encounters in the coming days:

Increased Shiny Chance from Eggs
What has changed with Eggs? Also fitting for the event, the 7km eggs you receive from gifts from friends have been changed. Here too, you can get different Pokémon and even have a higher chance of Shiny-Monozyto than if you encounter it in the wild. In addition to the new Pokémon, you have the chance to obtain Mega Energy for Simsala, Lahmus, Guardevoir, and Meditalis.
You will receive the following Pokémon from the eggs:
- Kadabra
- Galar-Flegmon*
- Woingenau*
- Metang
- Monozyto*
- Iscalar*
What challenges are there? Suitable for the event, several collector challenges are running. From them, you can earn Stardust, XP, and Mega Energy.
