In Pokémon GO the season “A Festive Season” has started. It is the first season to come into the game. We show you what changes have occurred as a result.
This is what happened: On December 1st at 8:00 AM, the first season in Pokémon GO started. It is called “A Festive Season” and changes quite a bit in Pokémon GO.
There are new spawns, raids, and further adjustments that change the game. We give you an overview of all the changes here.
Spawns and Changes for Season 1
These are the seasonal spawns: The festive season brings mainly winter spawns here in Europe. The following are boosted:
- Sesokitz (Winter Form)
- Alolan Sandshrew
- Alolan Vulpix
- Jurob
- Lapras
- Teddiursa
In general, there seem to be significantly more of the same spawns. We at MeinMMO have already seen particularly many Picochilla, Smogon, Unratütox, Taubsi, and Hornliu. They have already been quite catchable, but now it seems that the spawn rate has increased again.
This regional Pokémon is new in Germany: First German trainers report that Furnifraß appears in their city. The regional Pokémon originally appears in the Western Hemisphere – now it seems to have swapped regions with Fermicula.
This has changed with buddy Pokémon: There was a small change with your buddy’s hearts. You can now earn 3 hearts when battling with your buddy, so you can earn a total of 12 hearts, or even 24 hearts when in an excited state.
This has changed with the berries: The silver Nanab Berry has been boosted. It now gives 7 candies per catch, instead of just 6.
Additionally, the Nanab Berry has been boosted. It now causes the Pokémon to not move at all. Previously, there were occasional movements possible.
This quest has now been introduced worldwide: The task “Land 3 outstanding throws in a row” for a Kaumalat is now available worldwide. Previously, this task was only available in Australia, but now every player can receive a Kaumalat from the quest.
What about new raids? So far, there are not many confirmed raids from players. However, they could also change on December 1st at 10:00 PM, as Kyurem comes to the raids then.
A new raid boss is confirmed: Psiau now appears in level 1 raids and can be challenged. It is a new Pokémon from the 6th generation.
What about level 50? The new maximum level is also live in Pokémon GO! You can now climb 10 more levels. All steps for this are shown here:
