What kind of event is this? On Sunday, April 12, the GO Battle Day will take place in Pokémon GO for the first time. The focus of this day is the Water/Fairy Pokémon Marill. You can catch it via the Battle League. The event will run simultaneously with the Easter event.
On Sunday, you can participate in 20 battle sets instead of the usual 5 – that’s a total of 100 battles. If you win matches between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM local time, your chances of encountering a Marill will increase. It will appear as a base reward after the first and third win, and with a Premium Pass after each victory. Additionally, there will be double Stardust for every Marill caught. The rewards for rank-ups, such as Wrestler Pikachu, will remain unchanged during this time.

Why should I catch Marill? You can evolve Marill into Azumarill. That is one of the best Pokémon in the Super League. Its type combination makes it a dangerous opponent, and it can withstand a lot in battle. A strong Azumarill performs really well in the Super League – and the more Marill you catch, the better your chances of having good stats.
Why is this event taking place? The event, which can be perfectly played from home, celebrates the introduction of the new battle leaderboard.
This will be introduced on Friday, April 10. It will display the 500 best trainers, including their trainer name, team, and rank. Additionally, it will show the rating and total battles fought.
Trainers from rank 7 can be included on the list. However, trainers against whom disciplinary actions are pending or who use inappropriate nicknames will be excluded. The list will always evaluate the performances from the previous day.
The leaderboard could give some players an incentive to reattempt in the PvP league. However, the atmosphere in the battle league has recently been tainted by numerous bugs and issues.
