In Pokémon GO, the Mega Squads event is coming soon. We look at the five most exciting Pokémon of the event: Maschiff, Mabosstiff, Flamigo, Mega-Beedrill, and Mega-Houndoom.

The Mega Raids bring you various Pokémon that you can catch for your collection. This includes the Mega forms of Beedrill and Houndoom, which can learn new moves.

Additionally, there are the new Pokémon Maschiff and Mabosstiff as well as the shiny version of Flamigo.

Here, we summarize the most important information about the monsters for you.

Catching Maschiff and Mabosstiff in Pokémon GO

When can you catch them? From September 8th, 10:00 AM,

Where can you catch them? Maschiff appears in Pokémon eggs, field research, and the GO Pass. It does not currently appear in the wild.

Mabosstiff, on the other hand, can only be obtained through evolution. You can evolve it for 50 Maschiff candies.

Can Maschiff be shiny? No, not currently.

Catching Shiny Flamigo in Pokémon GO

When can you catch it? From September 8th, 10:00 AM.

Where can you catch Flamigo? Currently, it appears:

  • In the wild
  • In 5 km eggs
  • In field research

Can it be shiny? Yes, for the first time.

Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom in Pokémon GO at Mega Raids

When can you catch them?

  • Mega Beedrill appears from September 8th to 15th in Mega Raids
  • Mega Houndoom appears from September 11th to 15th in Mega Raids

What’s special about them? Both can reach the Super Max Level for the first time during the event. However, you need Mega Energy, which you can obtain from the raids.

New moves: Mega Beedrill receives the new move Fell Stinger+ at the Super Max Level. The move deals 40 damage in trainer battles and raises the attack by one stage. In raids, it deals 140 damage.

Mega Houndoom has Dark Pulse+. It deals 60 damage in trainer battles and 150 damage in raids.

Important: You can obtain Mega Energy while catching Weedle and Hounduster and their evolutions through the GO Pass milestones if you are lucky. Furthermore, there will be a spotlight hour for Weedle and its evolutions on September 10th, and for Hounduster and its evolutions on September 11th.

Even before the Mega Raids event starts, we have the Mega finale scheduled. This brings back the previously rare Armored Mewtwo, as well as new moves for the Mega forms of Mewtwo, making the Pokémon even more interesting, even outside of battles.
