What is a spotlight hour? This event takes place regularly on Tuesday evenings. During this hour, a special Pokémon is put in the spotlight and appears everywhere in the wild. Additionally, there is a bonus.
Today is all about Nailtales from generation 5. It is the first of 4 spotlight hours in June.
Spotlight hour with Nailtales – All information
When does the event start? It starts tonight at 6:00 PM local time. The increased spawns of Nailtales will last until 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there this time? The spawns of Nailtales are extremely increased and you will find them everywhere. As an additional bonus, there are double experience points for evolving Pokémon.
So, if you don’t want to go out at the start, you can still earn some extra XP from home. You may also connect this with leveling up friends, who will bring the usual XP during the event, but if you are throwing a lucky egg anyway, the 200,000 XP for a best friend are worth it.
Are there Shiny Nailtales? Yes, you will be able to encounter Shiny Nailtales as well. However, you will need a lot of luck, as Nailtales has a shiny chance of 1 in 450. So you will need to click on quite a few specimens.
What do first players report? In New Zealand and Australia, the spotlight hour has already taken place. On reddit players reported significantly more other spawns during the hour.
