What is the Spotlight Hour? In Pokémon GO, a Spotlight Hour takes place every Tuesday, where a specific Pokémon is highlighted in the game for one hour.
You can find it everywhere in the wild during this time. Additionally, you will receive a special bonus that is meant to enhance the event further.
Today is the day again, and you can encounter numerous Treecko in the wild. The monster is accompanied by an XP bonus. Below, we will show you what to expect.
Spotlight Hour with Treecko – Start, Bonuses, and Shiny
When does the Spotlight Hour start? The one-hour event starts, as usual, at 6:00 PM local time and ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are available? During the Spotlight Hour, you can encounter Treecko at almost every corner. If you want to catch even more, you can additionally use incense. However, keep in mind that Niantic has “nerfed” the incense and you now need to move to get more spawns.
Furthermore, during the 60-minute event, you will receive double XP for catching Pokémon.
Is there a shiny Treecko? Yes, you can encounter a shiny Treecko with some luck. You can recognize it by its long green body and red foliage.
Is the Spotlight Hour with Treecko worth it?
The rock-type Pokémon Treecko is from the 2nd generation and has only one pre-evolution, in the form of Grovyle, but no further evolutions. The Pokémon is not particularly strong, which is why it plays no role in raids or the GO Battle League.
So, if you are looking for a strong attacker, Treecko is not the right choice. Therefore, the event is mainly worthwhile for shiny hunters. Additionally, the XP bonus is a great opportunity to boost your experience points, which you need on the way to level 50.
Tip: If you have no interest in Treecko and its shiny, you can alternatively activate the Mystery Box. This gives you the mysterious Pokémon Meltan for one hour.
