What kind of event is it? Every Tuesday evening, there is a Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO. During the event, a previously selected Pokémon is in focus and appears much more frequently in the game.

Spotlight Hour on December 13th – Start, Bonuses, Shiny
When does it start? As you know from this type of events, the Spotlight Hour begins at 6:00 PM local time. It will be active for one hour and ends at 7:00 PM again.
What bonuses are there? During the Spotlight Hour, you will encounter Seemops almost everywhere in the wild. The Pokémon comes from the third generation of games and is of the Ice and Water types. Its evolutions are Seejong and Walraisa.
In addition, you will receive double the amount of experience points for catching Pokémon. This applies to all Pokémon – not just for catches of Seemops.

Are there shiny Seemops? Yes, you can catch shiny Seemops in Pokémon GO. However, keep in mind that the chances are not increased during a Spotlight Hour. In the following graphic, you can see shiny Seemops:
Is the Spotlight Hour with Seemops worth it? You can use the XP bonus on your way to level 50. But how strong are Seemops and its evolutions? Seemops itself isn’t particularly important, but Seejong manages to reach the midfield in the Super League.
The final evolution of Seemops, Walraisa, is a valuable attacker. It ranks high in the Super League and Hyper League in PvP. In the Master League, Walraisa is in the upper midfield. In PvE, Walraisa is decent, but there are stronger alternatives in raids.
