What kind of event is this? Every Tuesday, a Spotlight Hour takes place in Pokémon GO. At the beginning of a month, the developers decide which Pokémon you can encounter in the following weeks. These will then appear very frequently in the wild on their respective event days. This is accompanied by a bonus.
Today, you will encounter Petznief during the Spotlight Hour and receive more candies.
Spotlight Hour on December 27th – Start, Bonuses, Shiny
When does it start? As always, the event starts at 6:00 PM local time. It is active for one hour and ends for you at 7:00 PM local time.
What bonuses are there? In the wild, you will encounter Petznief nearly everywhere. This Pokémon comes from the fifth generation of games and is of the Ice type. Its evolution is called Siberio.
Another bonus is active during the event time: You will receive double the amount of candies for sending Pokémon.

Can you catch Shiny Petznief? Yes, you can catch the shiny version of Petznief in Pokémon GO. However, the chances are not increased during the Spotlight Hour. In the following graphic, we show you the comparison between the normal version and the shiny version:
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today? Neither in PvP nor in PvE do Petznief and Siberio have notable strength. Many will use the Spotlight Hour today to tidy up their collection and take advantage of the candy bonus for sending Pokémon.
