What kind of event is this? Every Tuesday, a Spotlight Hour starts in Pokémon GO. This event has been around for several months now and is a regular part of the game’s event rotation. Each week, a different Pokémon is the focus of the event.
This week, you will encounter the Water and Fairy-type Pokémon Marill. This week’s event is complemented by a Stardust bonus for your catches.
Spotlight Hour with Marill – Start Time and Bonuses
When does it start? If you’ve attended these events before, you already know the times. The event kicks off at 6 PM and runs until 7 PM.
During this time, wild Marill will appear all around you. After the event ends, the Pokémon that were brought into the game by the second part of “Illuminating Legends Y” will spawn again in the wild.
This is the bonus: Besides the many Marill spawns, you can expect a Stardust bonus. You will receive double the amount of Stardust for catching Pokémon. Keep in mind that you can enhance this bonus with a Stardust item to earn even more Stardust.
In PvE, namely in raids against the raid bosses, Marill and its evolution Azumarill do not play a significant role. In PvP, however, the situation is quite different. In trainer battles, Marill leads the field in the Super League together with Galarian Slurpuff. They are the two strongest Pokémon you can use in the Super League.

Is the Spotlight Hour today worth it? Generally, the event is worth it for you, as it offers a good opportunity to collect Stardust.
