In Pokémon GO starts today, March 23, with the Spotlight Hour featuring Gehweiher. We will show you all the bonuses and let you know which trainers should take advantage of the hour.
What is a Spotlight Hour? This event takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO and focuses on a special Pokémon for one hour. The monster appears particularly frequently and a matching bonus rounds off the Spotlight Hour.
This week features the Water and Bug-type Pokémon Gehweiher. It is the first preview of the Weather Week coming up soon. We will reveal everything about its usefulness and the trainers who should not miss this event.
Spotlight Hour with Gehweiher – All Information
When does it start? The event starts today at 6:00 PM local time. The bonuses are active for exactly one hour, and at 7:00 PM you will find normal spawns in the wild again.
What bonuses are there? As usual during the Spotlight Hour, the spawns will be increased again. Additionally, almost every Pokémon in the wild will be a Gehweiher. You can easily catch around 400 Pokémon in the hour with the right route.
Furthermore, there are double experience points for catching Pokémon. With a Lucky Egg, this bonus is doubled again – resulting in four times the XP.
The evolution of Gehweiher, Maskeregen, is no longer Water-type, but rather Bug and Flying types. Unlike Gehweiher, it can actually fly. Moreover, it tends to be averse to rain, and its delicate wings are susceptible to water.
Are there Shiny Gehweiher? No, the shiny form of Gehweiher is not yet in the game, and you will not be able to catch it during the Spotlight Hour. Therefore, the hour is less interesting for Shiny hunters.
Who should play the Spotlight Hour? Trainers who still need experience points in Pokémon GO should take advantage of the hour. Those who do not value XP or are already at the maximum level of 50 can comfortably skip this hour.
Gehweiher and its evolution Maskeregen play no role in the meta of Pokémon GO. Even in the PvP league, Maskeregen is not really useful. So if you are looking for a strong attacker, you will not find one in this Spotlight Hour.
What’s next: March is slowly coming to an end, yet a lot is still happening in Pokémon GO. Soon, the Weather Week will start, which will even bring a new Shiny into the game.
