What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour takes place once a week, on Tuesday. Here, you’ll always encounter a Pokémon that changes weekly, which will be the focus for 60 minutes. It then appears simply everywhere in the wild.
On top of that, there is always a bonus that makes the hour even more attractive.
What does the Spotlight Hour on July 22, 2024, bring? The star is Diglett, the Ground-type Pokémon from the first generation. It can evolve into Dugtrio.
However, its Alolan form is also included. Alolan Diglett comes from the seventh Pokémon generation and additionally has the Steel type. It evolves into Alolan Dugtrio.
Spotlight Hour on July 23 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? On July 23, 2024, at 6:00 PM. It will end at 7:00 PM.
Which bonus is active? You will receive double XP when evolving your Pokémon. It doesn’t have to be Diglett, the bonus applies to any of your monsters. So it’s best to find out beforehand which monsters you want to evolve. Alternatively, there is simply the “Can evolve” filter for your Pokémon collection, which shows which monsters you could evolve.
Can you catch Shiny Diglett? Yes, Diglett is available as Shiny in both forms. There is no increased Shiny chance, but due to the high number of spawns, you can try your luck.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Unfortunately, Diglett, its evolution, and the Alolan forms are not particularly effective as attackers. This applies both in the PvP league and for raids. Here, collectors can head out if they still need these Pokémon. The bonus is not bad if you still need XP for leveling up.
