What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a 60-minute event that takes place every week on Tuesday. In addition to a Pokémon that is in focus and appears in very high numbers, there is also a bonus active during the event.
The Spotlight Hour on June 24, 2025, will bring you Furfrou. This Fire-type Pokémon originates from the 1st generation and can evolve into Arcanine. It also has a Hisui form, which, however, cannot be caught during this event.
Spotlight Hour on June 24, 2025 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, it kicks off at 18:00 with the Spotlight Hour. An hour later, at 19:00, the short event ends.
What bonus is active? If you evolve Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of experience points. It doesn’t matter which monster you evolve: The bonus is active for every evolution you carry out.
If you use a Lucky Egg before your evolutions, you will even receive four times the amount of experience points for each individual evolution.
Can you catch Shiny-Furfrou? Yes. The Shiny variant of Furfrou is also active in the game. If you’re lucky, you can get this variant of Furfrou during the event.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? While Arcanine used to be among the best attackers in Pokémon GO, it has since been outpaced by many other monsters. As a Fire-type attacker for your raids, you should rely on other monsters instead.
It’s similar in the battle leagues. Here, neither Furfrou nor Arcanine are suitable. This applies to both the Great, Ultra, and Master Leagues.
The final evolution of Abra, Alakazam, is a strong Psychic-type attacker and is also represented in our list of best attackers in Pokémon GO. If you still need strong monsters here, the Spotlight Hour could be worth it for you.
If you have some evolutions stacked up that you want to conduct, you can optimally utilize the event’s bonus to gain some additional experience points.
