The great Sinnoh event in Pokémon GO has started and there are many bonuses. Special spawns, quests, and eggs will provide you with rare Pokémon and new Shinies.
How long does the Sinnoh event last? This event will run throughout the entire weekend. Until Monday, February 10th, at 10 AM local time, the bonuses are active.
During this period, you will find more Pokémon from Generation 4 everywhere. Even the rarer monsters like Koknodon and Kaumalat will appear more frequently.
Shiny Hippopotas, Shiny Riolu, and more Kaumalat
These are the bonuses: Although the event lasts only a few days, the list of bonuses is long. You can look forward to the following:
- In 7-km eggs, you will find only Sinnoh Pokémon such as Knospi, Wadribie, Bronzel, Kaumalat, Riolu, Hippopotas, and Mantirps
- From gifts, you can even receive 2 7-km eggs at once
- Special field research that includes Sinnoh Pokémon and stones will come from PokéStops
- Shiny Riolu and Shiny Hippopotas will be available for the first time in Pokémon GO
- In the wild, Pokémon from Generation 4 spawn primarily

Which spawns are available? You will most often find the starters of Generation 4, which are Chelast, Plinfa, and Panflam. Bronzel, Finneon, Shnebedeck, Hippopotas, and other monsters from Gen 4 are also more frequently encountered.
However, particularly interesting are Kaumalat and Koknodon. Although they are still not found on every corner, the rare Pokémon are now appearing noticeably more often.
This is the first time that Kaumalat is seen more often in the wild, after this Pokémon was previously hard to find for many players.
These are the event quests: A total of 5 special field researches await you. Here’s what you have:
- Use a Sinnoh stone when evolving Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Koknodon
- Hatch 5 eggs
- Reward: 1x Sinnoh stone
- Catch 5 Chelast, Panflam, or Plinfa
- Reward: 1000 Stardust
- Win a raid
- Reward: Encounter with a Hippopotas
- Catch 5 Zirpurze
- Reward: Encounter with a Wadribie
Especially the quest about Koknodon is interesting. It is worth collecting 3 of them and then using a Sinnoh stone. Rameidon, the evolution of Koknodon, is the best Rock attacker in the game.
What new Shinies are there? Trainers report only of Hippopotas and Riolu as new Shinies. These were already known beforehand.
Currently, you also have quite good chances of Shiny Kaumalat. While this Pokémon was previously extremely rare, it can now occasionally be obtained from eggs or found in the wild.
The wrestler Pikachu is also coming to Pokémon GO soon. We will tell you when:
