New information about the global Hoenn Tour in Pokémon GO has been announced. We summarize all the announcements for you.
This is the event: The global “Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn” takes place on February 25 and 26, following a week after the local version of the event in Las Vegas.
What about the ticket? While the event in Las Vegas has been very clearly presented, including ticket prices and contents, there are still questions regarding the global tour.
Here, too, some content has already been announced, such as the ticket research for Jirachi and the new proto forms. However, a proper event ticket, as in Las Vegas, has not yet been announced.
This situation remains the same. However, Pokémon GO has now announced some further content for the global Hoenn Tour, giving the event a bit more shape.
New content for the global Hoenn Tour announced – what to expect at the event

Wild Latias and Latios: The two legendary Pokémon will appear in the wild during the global Hoenn Tour. It is important which side you choose for the event.
- The Ruby medal brings Latias
- The Sapphire medal brings Latios
Both monsters can also be found as Shiny with luck. Additionally, you will have another encounter if you take a snapshot of them in the wild.
Different teams: It was already known that there would be the sides “Ruby” and “Sapphire”. Now there are also first details about the contents.
On one hand, you have to participate in field research for your team. Depending on which team completes more research, the proto raids will be influenced.
- If Team Ruby completes more research, there will be more proto-Groudon
- Team Sapphire, on the other hand, will provide more proto-Kyogre
Additionally, the spawns change depending on which team completes more research.

- Plusle, Volbeat, Knacklion, Sonnfel, Formeo (Sonnenform)
- Team Sapphire – special spawns
- Minun, Illumise, Wailmer, Lunastein, Formeo (Regenform)
New costumed Pokémon: During the event, you will encounter new, costumed Pikachu. These are also inspired by the Hoenn game generation.

More spawns in habitats: The habitats “Glowing Sand”, “Green Earth”, “Eerie Fog” and “Historical Coast” were already known, as well as some Pokémon. These have now been supplemented. The now known spawns are shown here.

Further information about the event is not available yet. Currently, increased shiny chances, a possible ticket, or the handling of Rayquaza, which also belongs to Hoenn, are still the big question marks for many trainers.
