In Pokémon GO there is the next Rocket takeover. In the Rocket event, there are again some contents around the Crypto-Pokémon. We show you the most important information.
When does the Rocket event take place? The Rocket takeover starts on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM. It runs until Wednesday, March 29 at 8:00 PM. Thus, the event is embedded in the current “Let’s GO” event.
What kind of event is it? The Rocket takeover will again focus on the villains of Team GO Rocket. Among other things, significantly more Rocket Grunts will appear at the stops and visit you in their Rocket balloons.
In addition, the Rockets will change their teams again and face you with new Crypto-Pokémon that you can secure afterwards.
The most important features that you should keep in mind during the event are summarized here for you.
The most important features in the Rocket takeover in Pokémon GO
Giovanni changes his Pokémon: Rocket Boss Giovanni will use Crypto-Regice instead of Crypto-Registeel from the start of the Rocket takeover. If you want to have the steel monster, you should defeat the Rocket Boss beforehand.
The best counters against Giovanni in Pokémon GO can be found here.
New special research: In order to challenge Giovanni, a new special research around Team GO Rocket will be released for the Rocket takeover. It is to be expected that you will need to defeat numerous Grunts and also the Rocket leaders during this research.
In the end, there is the Super Rocket Radar to challenge the boss.
You can find all tasks and rewards for the new Rocket special research here.
Unlearning frustration: One of the most important features of every Rocket takeover is the ability to unlearn frustration. This attack is normally mastered by every captured Crypto-Pokémon, and usually cannot be unlearned via TM. However, during the Rocket takeover, you can change the attack via TM.
Pokémon that are worth “unlearning frustration” are summarized here.
Shinys among Grunts: This is an important change: Even the normal Rocket Grunts can distribute Shiny monsters from the start of the Rocket takeover. The chance is still random; however, it’s an upgrade that they can now distribute shiny Pokémon at all. Previously, this was only the case with the Rocket bosses or special opponents like Jessie and James.
